My name is Niall and I have been calling Kyoto home since 2007. Since then I have truly fallen in love with this beautiful city and have been fascinated by all the beauty, history and culture oozing from its cobbled streets, quaint neighbourhoods and temple grounds. I grew up in Vancouver, Canada and have lived and worked in Ireland, South Korea and Estonia working as a bartender and English teacher before establishing Kyoto Fun Tours in 2013. In this brief time, I have had the pleasure of discovering Kyoto with hundreds of people of all ages and backgrounds. Taking backpackers, young couples, retirees and families from all over the world on fun and friendly outings in the city. It didn't take long for me to realize that some people are looking for more than just a tour and that when it comes to planning the perfect day for them the sky is the limit. That is why I started Kyoto VIP Experience. The inspiration for this new service came from the expression “ichi go, ichi-e” which loosely translated means “one time, one meeting” oft compared to the expression once in a lifetime. But it goes much deeper than that. You might see this written on a hanging scroll in a tea ceremony to remind the guests and the host that as many times as you repeat an action, the moment you are in now will never occur again and we should do our upmost to respect that fact in order to get the most out of each and every experience. With that in mind, when you choose Kyoto VIP Experience you get someone dedicated to making sure that we craft the perfect day for you and take care of all the small details so that when you arrive in Kyoto you know you are in good hands.
